We Who Care of Marion County Inc.

In addition to the activities below, We Who Care has picnics and outings from time to time, providing fun, stimulating activities year-round for our special needs citizens. Our meetings are held the first Saturday of the month, 11:30AM, at Galaxy East Lanes. We need new members to help us continue these programs! If you have a little time, and care about the Special Needs Citizens of Marion County, please join us!  If you don't want to join, we gratefully accept donations of time, services or money.

• We Who Care, in partnership with the City of Ocala, sponsors a free dance for the handicapped citizens of Marion County on one Friday in February, April, June, August, October and December at the City Auditorium, NE Sanchez Avenue. Dances are from 7PM to 9PM. Talk to any member for exact dates. Dancers must be accompanied by a responsible adult!

• We also sponsor bowling for our Special Needs citizens on most Saturdays, 2PM at Galaxy East Lanes, 3225 SE Maricamp Road. Cost is $2.00 for two games, but shoes and bowling balls are provided for free! We have a bowling banquet in June when bowlers get their trophies, but you must meet minimum attendance standards to attend. Check with members as league and tournament bowling sometimes moves us to another bowling alley. Practice bowling starts a few minutes before 2, so be there 1:30-1:45, this gives you time to put on bowling shoes. Bowlers must be accompanied by a responsible adult!

• Our Special Needs Boy Scout Troop 331 meets Monday nights at ARC on Maricamp Road. Pre-meeting activities start at 6:30PM, meetings end about 8:30 PM. Our Scouts camp, hike, go on field-trips and have a great time. We need responsible adult volunteers!
